Step-by-Step NSFAS Application Process
Create Your myNSFAS Account
Visit the official NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za Click on "myNSFAS" and register an account if you don’t already have one. Use a valid email address and cellphone number (make sure you can access them at all times). Create a secure password and keep it safe.
Complete Your Application
Log in to your myNSFAS account. Click on the "Apply" tab. Fill in all required personal and academic details. Upload your supporting documents (see required documents below).
Submit Your Application

Note: SASSA recipients automatically qualify for NSFAS funding. If You Are Dependent on Parents/Guardian/Spouse:
Certified ID copies of parents, guardian, or spouse Proof of income (payslip or appointment letter) for parents, guardian, or spouse If You Are Self-Sufficient and Employed:
Proof of income (payslip or appointment letter) IRP5 documents for the last 3 years
Who Cannot Apply for NSFAS?
Your application will not be considered if:
You have already applied on www.nsfas.org.za and have an application reference number. You already have NSFAS funding for 2024. You already have an undergraduate degree/diploma or a postgraduate qualification (unless it's an NSFAS-funded postgraduate program). You are not planning to study at a public university or TVET college.
