About SAAB
The South African Association of Botanists (SAAB) is dedicated to promoting botanical research, conservation, and education in South Africa. The SAAB Scholarship aims to empower the next generation of botanists by funding students who show academic excellence and dedication to plant sciences and biodiversity conservation.
Who Can Apply?
The SAAB Scholarship is open to South African citizens or permanent residents who:โ Are enrolled (or intend to enroll) in a recognized South African tertiary institution for the 2025 academic year.
โ Have a strong academic record and passion for botanical sciences.
โ Are pursuing studies in:
- Plant Sciences
- Ecology
- Conservation Biology
- Environmental Science
- Horticulture
- Ethnobotany
Preference is given to students whose research aligns with SAABโs mission of promoting botanical science and conservation.
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
The SAAB Scholarship provides:โ Tuition Fees โ Full or partial coverage.
โ Research Funding โ Financial support for fieldwork, laboratory costs, and study materials.
โ Living Stipend โ Helps cover daily expenses.
