The SASSA Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 Grant provides temporary financial assistance to eligible South Africans in need. You can apply online or via WhatsApp.

If you applied since April 2022, your application will automatically be considered each month until March 2023.

If you are approved for the SRD R350 grant and need to update your banking details, follow these steps:
Enter your ID number on the SASSA website.
You will receive an SMS with a secure link.
Click on the link and follow the instructions carefully.
Choose between:
Direct bank deposit – Ensure the account is in your name.
Money transfer via major banks – Ensure your mobile number is registered in your name.
Click here to change your banking details: Update Banking Details
Note: Your updated banking details will only be used for future payments after verification.
Only apply ONCE via WhatsApp OR online.
Always check your application status for updates.
Keep your banking details updated for smooth payments.
Appeal immediately if your application was unfairly declined.
