Introduction

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provides financial assistance to those in need through various social grants. Applications can be submitted in two ways:
✅ In-Person at a SASSA office
✅ Online via the SASSA services website

This guide walks you through both application methods to help you apply with ease.

Applying for a SASSA Grant In-Person

Who Can Apply?

🔹 You must visit a SASSA office near you.
🔹 If you are unable to visit due to illness, age, or disability, a trusted family member or friend (Procurator) can apply on your behalf.
🔹 The Procurator must bring a signed letter from you authorizing them to apply.

Application Process:

1️⃣ Collect the Application Form – Available at any SASSA office.
2️⃣ Complete the Form with a SASSA Officer – A SASSA official will assist if needed.
3️⃣ Receive a Receipt – After submitting, you will receive a stamped receipt with the officer’s name. Keep this as proof of application.

💡 Important:
✔️ Applications are FREE – No payment is required.
✔️ You will be notified of your application outcome via SMS or letter.
